some say they are harmful others say they are not. I have them in my tank and don't try and kill because they scavenge detritus at night when lights off so I just figured why get rid of them. If your concerned get a six line and it will help keep them under control.

Here's a pic of a fairly large one that has lived in the same spot for a while. I have a few of them in my tank and consider them beneficial. This is a pic of one of mine eating a large piece of detritus (poo)..........

My bristleworms are a welcome member in my aquarium. Especially with my constantly-pooping tangs! Often they get blamed for killing fish because neewbies wake up to a dead fish being eaten by the worms. In reality they are just cleaning up the carcass that was already dead and they had the opportunity for a meal.

its a bristle worm its a benificial scavenger and helps your tank...now if it was a FIREWORM you would have trouble...do you have soft coral? if you see holes in your softies then you need to get something that eats the FIREWORMS or trap them with a....you guessed it! A TRAP

Thanks for all of your inputs. I put it back in the tank and it went right under the sand. Thanks again for all of your fast responses.

You can get a Coral Banded shrimp to keep them in check if they get out of hand.
