    Got this guy yesterday. Seems healthy though obviously still very much getting adjusted so mostly in hiding. Did manage to get these photos.

    Does anyone recognize this variation? :confused: Thanks! :)

    There's certainly some confusion on this guy. I was sent this possibility from the LFS FAQs on the Algae Eating Blennies Identification and google has these for 'tribal' Google and liveaquaria this for Black Combtooth Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Black Combtooth Blenny .

    How do we best distinguish between the tribal and black combtooth?

    And, should it matter from a husbandry and reef care perspective?

    IMO i think the head markings give it away with the antler position vs the black combtooth

    Its a tribal i have one in my tank.. its a few threads up..
