So I have had this coral for a while now no idea what it is. I know when I got it I thought it looked alright till I got it home and relized that alot of it was dead already and slowly dying. I have been trying to move it around to find a happy place for it but it is kinda hard when I dont know what it is exactly. I have had it for months now and its like 3/4 of what was there when I got it. It was only $10 so I am not to worried if its beyond saving just curious as to what it is and if I can save it.

Its favites brain I believe. Not looking too good, but saving it for 10 bucks would be well worth it. Good luck!

Looks like a favia need medium flow and medium light low nitrates (<5) and phosphates (near zero).

Hrmm...Think it would do good under stock biocube 29 Lighting? Lights in the 90 are pretty bright and it also has a pretty good ammount of flow.

Yeah, they don't need a lot of light. is that a MH or a PC BC29? If it's a PC, make sure the bulbs are not that old.

That favites is typically called a pineapple brain.

Its the PC one. I haven't seen a galore cube except one that was retrofitted. Anyway...the bulbs are fresh only month or two old. I should be able to put it anywhere right?

Just to add, you probably should feed it mysis or other high quality food for a while, it's a bit bleached so feeding it should help it recover since it can't get much energy from the light since a lot of it's zooxanthellae are gone.
You could also try keeping it down low and shading it in your 90, as well as feeding it.

yes, that will keep it hapy, but as screwtape mentioned, you should feed it whenever it has feeder tentacles out. With little zooxanthilliae, it can't get much energy from light alone.
