Does candy cane have stems like a hammer or frogspown always? This seems closer to a favia, I guess, but it is spherical not flat like other favias seem to be. It has good color but not alot of flesh im wondering if its dying? Its at a lfs.

That's a Favia. You can always tell the difference between a Favia and a Favites because Favia have plocoid corallites and Favites have cerioid coral. In English, that's seperate septum walls Vs. shared septum walls.

It is starving and needs to be target fed after the lights have been out for an hour or two. I was going to send a PM on this but since you were astute enough to notice, I'll let everyone know.

It is not uncommon for Faviids to arrive at a LFS almost starved. They might not eat the first night, they might not eat the second night, but they come back....be patient. Whenever you can see septal spines that clearly, it's pretty much the same as humans. If you see our bones that clearly, that person obviously needs food.
