id this for me. want to know if corals need less flow

    I think you're exactly right. I've been looking at a lot of Pom Pom's since I'd like one for my tank.

    The first pic looks like something I just saw at my LFS last week. Don't remember what it was though.

    The first image looks like some soft coral or leather, the second image xenia and both images have what looks a lot like dino in my opinion. If it is indeed dinoflagellates it will cause a decline in the health of your corals.

    Neither both are softies. Most like a tree coral and xenia.

    thank you everyone with your help i really need to get this dino problem under control i did pick up about 14 more cuc b/c my old ones died but i see a decline in dino all ready.

    Typically member of a cuc do not eat dino, so if your see a decline it's not dino, or something else your doing is effective.

    Also if your CUC is dying there is another under lying issue of High Nitrates possibly.

    xenia are practically indestructible, so I wouldn't worry about them too much... but they will show stress by closing up, so something is definitely bothering them...

    The other coral in the top picture looks like it either has cyano on it or it is expelling zooxanthellae.... hard to tell in the pic, but that is my guess.

    Second is deff a pulsing xenia i have some just like that in my tank, and they will take alot before i got rid of my chocolate chip star he ate half the stalk on mine and they came right back lol
