I got this attached to a piece of lr with my used setup. I just set it on the side, sort of hidden. in the last couple weeks this thing has completely blown up. It's a good 6 inches long. Anybody know what it is?

I agree it does look like a Rhodactis mussoides or similar.

Be careful they will eat clowns that they are hosting.

Wow beautiful beast, I would go with Corailline's ID and be cautious as stated.

Well they are supposed to be meaningful post that contribute to the community. Same standard applies to everyone. Back to 48.;)

But thank you for providing a fine example of post padding.

Hard to tell from the colors, but it looks similar to mine. I received this from a local reefer and was told it was a Tonga shroom. Don't know anything more specific than that.

I've had my Starry Blenny lay on it once or twice and it didn't go after it.

Large mushrooms may release a chemical substance that lulls the fish to sleep or keeps a fish sleeping in it presence. The mushroom then encloses over the fish suffocating it and swallowing the fish.
