You might have to zoom in for this one but there are two purple spots growing on my snail's shell. At first I though it was coralline algae but now they look like tubes. Almost like feather dusters or maybe small xenia but I haven't had xenia in my tank for over a month. These have appeared on the snail in the last week. Thanks the help guys!

they are little tube/feather dusters.. harmless filter feeders. Look around on your rock work you may see them in the dark nooks of it and when it is out the feather's will look redish in color..

    Best of luck..

Id rather it be feather dusters than vermetid snails. Can I get a second opinion?

Definitely the snails. Most featehrdusters dont have a colorful tube.

Okay. what are my options? Do I need to get rid of these right now? What can I use to get them out of my tank?

I would remove them as soon as possible. Just use pliers and crush them/ pull them off.

They are vermetids. Nothing you can really do. Break them off if you want but they will show up somewhere else in your tank after some time. I have a giant one growing on my hammer coral. I think it's kinda cool

sorry for low quality, but you kinda get an idea on the size, its def about 1-2" long. Hasn't affected the coral either, in fact that particular hammer frag has already begun to split and I just fragged it off the main cluster
