Got a hitchhiker on some LR, looks to me some type of polyp coral but not sure. There it a hard round base and thin almost opaque arms that come out about half inch to an inch. Thanks Rob

Looks like they are coming directly out of polyp like circles. There are 5 in a half dollar sized area on one rock and 3 in a quater sized area on another rock. Thay have been in the tank for about 4 weeks and haven't spread.

I believe you have Caribbean corallimorphs---Pseudocorynactis caribbeorum. I have quite a few of them on my LR. They have white or red tips and are harmless.

Thank you, I have heard that they are difficult to keep but looks like it is doing well so far, been feeding it plankton every other day, so only time will tell.

I'm only a newbie--tank is only 5 months old--but I had enough nutrients in the system [55 gal] that I didn't have to feed them. They seem to get enough from just feeding the fish and coral. They have also grown larger.

Those look a lot like a Corynactis aka strawberry anemone. Pseudocorynactis spp. in general get to about 6" and dont form small colonies.
