I have a fine sand bed which until I got a gobie was doing its job just laying on the floor of my tank. Now the tank is like a snow globe!!!! :( I bought him from my LFS who called it a dot-dash gobie. My girlfirend named him morris (like morse code, dot dash) get it! Cant find info online for him under that name. Anyone have a better name?

I wish I could help more but I might be able to help others who know more about this particular fish.

There's no such thing as a dot dash goby. There is a dot dash blenny but this isn't one. (It's also not a blenny of any type....see how there are 2 dorsal fins? That means it's a goby and not a blenny).

First attempt at an ID :D

Possibly a "Decorated Goby" (Istigobius decoratus). The picture in my book has brown spots but the patterns are identical.

Based on what you found, I looked up that genus. Karma to you

I think you have an ornate goby (Istigobius ornatus)

Ornate Goby it is! Thanx for the help folks! Unfortunately about ten minutes ago I tore apart the rocks in my tank to get him out. Christmas is over, hopefully my snowglobe problem is too...
