I never clean the skimmer box on my overflow. Today I decided it might be time to do just that and I found this macro growing in it. I have a good idea what it is but want your opinions. Weird thing is that I've never had what I think it is in my system so I have no idea where it came from.

I took it out and put it in the fuge to get the pic. Me thinks it be Botrycladia (red grape algae).

Too bad that tangs love it. I'd really like to clean it up and put it in dt where it could be seen. I don't know if the light over my fuge is enough to keep it alive so I guess I'll toss it back into the skimmer box.

What ever type of lighting it is getting there it must like it. Mine just never did well after attempting it 3 times I gave up. I love the red macros.

Well it growing in the skimmer box of my DT about 4" under my T5's. I decided to split it in half. I attached one half to a piece of rubble and put it up high on the mangrove stand in my fuge, the other half went back into the skimmer box. I have plans for it in the future. :)
