    Hey, I just bought some corals today and this was thrown in. Could you please identify this little guy on the RIGHT.

    And any tips as to why I am having a random diatom algae breakout on my sand. I have been diatom free for months now... the tank is 8 month old.

    Looks like a chili coral/sponge. If so, when open it has white polyps.

    as per diatoms, it is a part of new tank syndrome.
