Hi everyone. I bought this as a sculptured pagoda coral. Since that time I have seen what appeared to be the same coral, only called a stunner. If this is a pagoda the polyps never open like my green cup pagoda, they always stay as you see in the photos. The lighter photo, is mainly to show a truer color without the blue lights.

how long have you had it? i had one whos polyps extended more or less....a little less than yours and i ended up loosing it, not that im trying to alarm you.

if you have one that is thriving, theoretically there is not reason why this one should not as well in time. but aside the PE looks to be in great health :s

Just a nicely colored yellow pagoda cup coral. For whatever reason, I find that yellows tend to show less PE than your average green and blue cup corals.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
^ Turbinaria sp. Extremely slow growers, not big on PE although they can be, like higher flow. The more intense the lighting the yellower the coral.

Looks very similar to a Hollywood stunner chalice, but I am going with Turbinaria.

Thanks everyone, actually it is growing very well. I am really happy with it and whatever the name was I love it.

PS. If anyone would like to give me tips on posting pics I would gratefully accept any and all advice.

It's certainly a Turbinaria, which is a different species of "cup" or "scroll" coral than the green Pagoda cup coral you have in mind.

Yes. Can you recommend something else that perhaps is better?
