    Can anyone tell me sort of algae this is and how best to get rid of it? I recently had a spike in my phosphates that I'm currently getting under control. Thinking that might be the why...But it's orange!

    I don't know. I am taking you mean the reddish orange stuff. It looks like coralline but feels slick or slimy, right?

    It's fuzzy. Sorry I should have said the rusty looking stuff!

    Could you get an in focus pic? It's so blurry it's not easy to tell. I'm going to guess cyano, as I've seen it start out looking fuzzy at first, until it gets a little thicker. Then it starts to look slimy.

    Definitely cyano.

    If it's fuzzy, it's not likely that it's cyano. I've only seen it referred to as "fuzzy algae."
