I picked this rock up for my FW tank, but when I picked up cichlids, I had to remove it as it was driving the pH up to 8.2-8.3. I never used any treatments on the tank while it was in there. Is it reef safe? Should I just not worry about it? There are two kinds of rock, both drove the pH up.

What kind of cichlids are you trying to keep. Looks like some form of river rock.

I'm not putting a lot of effort into keeping them any more (as my passion has turned to SW). I had electric blue rams, golden rams, german blue rams, kribensis, daffodil, some have come and gone. I still have some of them (all but the electric blue and the golden).

Wow sorry to hear that. Congrats on the new conversion. It might work out in your new setup. I know those kind of cichlids require some form of low pH.
