    Looks like the the start of a macro algae to me. Maybe some Chondria or Gracilaria. Hard to say from the pic.

    Very interesting, my gut feeling is Reefmonkey is right. It will be very interesting to see how they develop.

    if i read right (via google), the pretty ones should be kept but if its brown it can be a nuissance?

    Looks like a mini Nem to me if I am right they don't get larger than a 1/4 inch or so and don't seem to multiply fast. Is it light sensitive I can not remember what the name was but I had a couple awhile back they are not bad from what I read. My peppermint shrimp aet mine when it decided to move and the shrimp was out of atapsia.

    Looks more like some branching sponge than macroalgae to me...
