    If I turn off my halides why does my purple Idah Grape monti look brown? I just got a purple frag superman monti today that is like grape juice in color with no lights on.

    Fluorescing proteins are part of their pigmentation. If there's no light in the correct spectrum, then you're not going to see them fluoresce.
