My college allows for a 20g tank. me and my room mate want to get some sort of tank. We dont have the funds to do a reef tank. and possibly not salt at all just because its so expensive. but im open to any options that are fish related. some ppl across the hall from us got pihrannas ( i just miss spelled that so badly haha ). But any suggestions would be great we just dont want a plain boring freshwater community. Thanks in advance

could do any livebearer like guppies, endlers, swordtails ect. or south american dwarf cichlids like, blue rams, bolivian rams, cockatoo's. Or an invert shrimp tank. Or
dwarf puffers. They are neat and have very interacting personalities.

I'm thinking an ecopico would be the way to go.

Dwarf puffer also known as Indian Dwarf Puffer, Spotted Puffer or Pea Puffer. You could probably keep 4 of those if you have dense cover as they are territorial and need a lot of space. I used to keep these and they would eat blood worms straight from my hand. Every time I came to the glass or even walk in the room they would follow me around begging for food. Its neat watching them cruise around the tank. Oh r you could do a figure 8 puffer but I have no experience with those so I couldn't tell you much about them. Other than they need at least 15 gallons

1+ get a 20 of CL with a bunch of eqiupment for cheap price, then you can have SW, I like dwarf cichlids or paludariums if you don't do SW.
