One of my tubes fried itself recently. No problems,I'll just rotate the tubes. However one of the sockets/holders of the tube is broken --> new globes won't work so I'm assuming the fixture is stuffed. I'm not 100% sure

However with this i've decided to review the current light set up and replace the current set up if need be with something that can both support fish and corals.

Here comes the problem, I'm not sure what the current set up is. I really have nfi about lights so i need advice. I have attached pictures so that you can get an idea of what I'm currently using. From the research I've done, I'm not prepared to get hallies, The heat will be an extreme problem -- especially down hear in Aus - Summer time now Yay!.

Currently there are three units -
-two that hold two bulbs. (currently White ones) Located at the front and back. It's the front one which has stopped working.
-One that holds three (two white, 1 blue) Located in the center.

    All advice/comments welcome. :)
Oh and K+ to helpful ones :p

try hamilton lighting they are not the cheapest but if anything goes wrong it can be fixed, plus you can call them up direct.
for you lighting set up I just like M H butt if have talked with plenty of people growing corals with t 5s like yours, and with 3 feet you can fit a ton of bulbs over the tanks.
Last get rid of the glass cover it reflects too much light and accumulates stuff making it difficult for light to pass. If you must have something over use eggcrate or something start another blog if you have too
    cheers

Check out catalinaaquariums.com, best prices i have seen for larger fixtures. I just received my 8 Bulb T-5 fixture and man this thing is sweet. Not sure how much shipping to AUS might be but its something to look into. WE are running 6-10k and 2-460nm, im switching out 2 of the 10k for 2-420 nm to get more blue light.

Yes, I'm defiantly considering shipping -- especially considering that AUD is almost at parity on USD. The only thing is that because the tank is 3 deep, I'm not sure how a 'single' unit would go. Ideas/experiences ?
Unfortunately glass coverings are a necessity, mainly because of where we live and the conditions. A lot of stuff would get into the water otherwise. If there is any other solutions I'm open. Unfortunately its got to be solid. (ie. not egg crate :s)

    Keep the suggestions coming :)

With one unit it would look cleaner and they have them from 4 bulb up to 8 bulb to large sizes. Then you can have a self contained unit the has moons and everything in one fixture. Usually 3 plugs. He can also wire it up so you have just the Actinics kick on seperately from the day bulbs to creat dawn dusk effects. I would call though better pricing and a very nice guy to talk to.
