    My guess is some kind of bubble algae, it progressively gets bigger. Any guesses or suggestions?

    I was looking at the brownish colored bubble looking growth in the middle. Some of it has a very thick leaf like look.

    Yes, the brownish colored bubble shapes are what the growth in question is.
