Oh yeah....p-shrimp. Forgot all about those. I have two myself. Just be aware they are nocturnal. Once you put them in, you will be lucky to see them again. Unless you view at night......

whoa you got some hair algae there, and aptasia. Two things you dont want in a reef tank.

You need some emerald crabs, astrea snails, large florida cerith snails and peppermint shrimp.

Also try vodka dosing to reduce phophates and nitrates, which in turn reduce algae. Dose vodka by measuring it carefully. I dose 1.00ml in the morning and 1.00ml at night. THats in a 120 gallon tank w/50 gallon sump and fuge. So you would need to cut or increase the dosing according to your tank size and level of phophates and nitrates. Start with 0.10ml per day and increase slowly.

Read and understand this article all the way before you start dosing distilled vodka.

    Good luck with your tank.

be careful with vodka in the tank - it comes with its own set of problems.

I remember when I had aiptasia, I used the aiptasia-X stuff from Red Sea (it even comes with the syringe and needles needed) and that thing worked like a charm !

    mojano is something different.

lemon juice, boiling water, kalkpaste, don't rip though.

meh, maybe. i've always had good luck with peppermints that stay out during the day... for the price, doesn't hurt to try it, IMO.

You did state precautions with an excellent article, noted... but I really shy away from vodka suggestions for beginners... easy to mess that up.

I don't recommend this. The suggested clean up crew however, is a winner.

This is a strange technique i found worked nicely, i had a rock with maybe 10 aptasia on it, and nothing else. just aptasia, so i took the rock, and put it outside in the 80 degree weather for 3 days, and sunbaked it. the aptasia disappeared as far as i can tell.
