    Heres the scoop:
I have a 55 gal FOWLR and need something big as a show peice.
    Conditions:
    Must not outgrow tank
Must cohabitate with pink skunk clown
    Must also cohabitate with jawfish
Must be large (like kole tang) over 4"
If you think a tang could stay in my tank forever please mention;D
    Ornate wrasses are an example
    thanks for your input :cheesy:

That's some specific criteria. The best thing I would suggest is a dwarf angel, they would be perfect too b/c it's not a reef tank. Coral Beauties and flame angels are some of the most popular, but I also really like cherub angels, although they can be more aggressive.

A Potter's Angel would go very well. They are IMO, one of the prettiest fish that stays relatively small.

well some people may say that 4 feet is not large enough to house a tang... but given a strong enough skimmer and cleaning crew, maybe a smaller tang like a yellow would be acceptable. Just get it as a baby so it is accustomed to the smaller tank its whole life

mixed opinions on the Kole Tang thepanfish

Kole tangs would be suitable for a 55 gallon according to some sites that sell Kole Tangs
but on sites where people are talking about keeping Kole Tangs 75 - 90 gallon tanks come up regular

Of all the Tangs you could have mentioned, IMO its one of the few I would be willing to try in a 55

alternatives - as it a FOWLR - Dwarf Angels make flashy centre piece fish and a Flame Angel for me, is one of the best looking of this species ( if you do ever go coral, you may regret the dwarf angel as sometimes they can become coral browsers)

the fireball Angel is another really bright fish, with a front amd centre attitude , I have one of these who has twice weekly territorial disputes with my algae scraper when its in use

I would do a flame angel or potters angel, they are very pretty fish, as mentioned above. It would be more appropriate than a tang for a 55.

I was doing a 55 before and my local reef club members suggested a kole would be the only tang possible as a yellow would have trouble with the 12" tank depth once you put rock in. I'd honestly suggest a flame or rusty angel as the "centerpiece" fish. A maroon clown (or pair) is a good "centerpiece" too, its big and stays "front and center" but I'd add it near last because of it's attitude. I just added one to my tank and will be keeping it with a bunch of damsels.

    Best of luck to you
