I think you should go with the angel. Beautiful, fun fish and would do great in a 55 gallon. The angel's colors would definitely be impressive and it would be a great showpiece.

mine acted the same way. it wouldnt eat. but i noticed it pecking at rocks as well and used that. so i got some nori and tied it to a small piece of live rock and placed it where he seems to spend some time. eventually he started munching away.

it also helps him to witness other fish eating as well. this lets him know everything is okay. by the way potters love to hangout under rocky overhangs

Why can't you keep a tang in a 55 ? A Kole would be fine in there . I have kept several tangs in a 55 for many yrs never a problem . I have yet to see a small store brought Tang to ever out grow its system its kept in . I have a hippo and a sail Fin now both are about 12 yrs or so old hippo is like 5 " sailfin is 4" give or take . They spent their first few yrs in a 750 system then to a 350 then to a 280 then a 180 and now a 90 LOL

I was about to argue with Roger, but decided against it :D. Too much experience. All I would add would be to stick to a smaller one. Not a baby, but not a 10 inch hippo either.
