I am not normally one who complains about much, but I feel it necesary to warn all of you about this product.

JBJ True Temp Fish Tank Heaters

I have had 3 of these heaters and all have failed; the last one recently with disastrous results. Of course I was out of town for a week when the last one failed and I lost almost all of my corals in my 90g – I was crushed by the loss.

The issues I have had with these products have been similar, they work fantastic for about six months then the temp reported is way off… i.e. the display temp may be 78.5, but the actual tank temp is 65.0 (which is what happened in the latest incident).

If you are using one of these heaters PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your water temp with an accurate thermometer on a regular basis!

I have used a number of JBJ products and all have performed great, they seem to be a fine company, but this product has issues and I would strongly recommend having a backup system for monitoring the water temp if you are using one of these heaters.
