If you have the chance to on a Road Trip to the NorthEastern US, where would you go?

As always, its that time of year again. We're planning our vacation to the cabin in Maine. I like to drive it, thats half the fun. When I was little, we always drove to wherever we were going for vacation and I have a lot of fond memories doing so. We've been to DC, NYC and the great state of CT, lol!

Heres the route we take... Starting in TN, I-40 to I-81. Take I-81 through VA, WV, MD to I-84 in Scranton, PA. Then we take 84 through PA, NY, CT and MA, there somes other road, cant remember right off that we take in MA to I-495 around Boston. We jump on I-95 outside of Boston and take it all the way to past Augusta, Maine.

Ive been super busy this year, so I havent had a lot of time to prepare for this trip. Its roughly 1300 miles one way so I need a break inbetween here and there. We usually take the break and go site seeing.

Heres a rough map of the way we go...

You could visit Gettysburg, PA. I have been several times, you can get out and stretch your feet while seeing some pretty cool sites. You can also get something to eat in downtown Gettysburg

Thats one place I would love to visit, but I doubt I could talk to my wife into it, haha! Maybe when my daughter is older though, it would be a good history experience for her. IMO

Here is the one I took last year. Stopped outside of Hartford and visited Amcarrig and Tangster on the way. Oh and this was on two wheels not in a car.

saranac lake ny, next to lake placid, you can rent and entire island with a camp site on it for 12 dollars a site. some islands you have completely to your self.

not that its close to your travels , but having an island to yourself for 12 bucks is sweet.

also the niagara river has some of the best bass/salmon fishing on earth.

bass masters was held here for the last 2 years.

trust me reeling in a salmon below the falls rapids is quite an experience.
