There are many awesome things in the Northeast, like everyone said!!

From the megalopolis cities to the small towns in the great Northeast states, there's everything! but since I already live in the NE and really a dump of a city, IMO. Our family goes on a lot of road trips. Especially to places around the NE (sometimes Canada), since they're so close.

Honestly, to answer the question in mind, I would not travel far from my home state and go up to Northern New York. There's a crap load of things up there and not to mention the beauty of the Adirondacks State Park. From the Thousand Islands to Mt. Marcy to Lake Placid, home of the 1980 Winter Olympics (everyone knows what happened there, Hockey!!!) But really, every state has their own unique sense of beauty and something for everyone. Not only with the NE coast states but with every state in the wonderful US of A!!

and to Otty, that's truly awesome man, ride on!!!

My wifes dads family lives in Burlington, VT. We've been all over up there. We've been to the Adirondacks several times.

As for various places to see, I was thinking more along the lines of not so far out of our way. RI is way way way out of the way. Love to go there sometime though. Theres a lot of things we're planning on doing as our little girl gets older and can understand the places we go to.

I think we may just go to DC again. Our daughter has taken an interest in dinosaurs, so theres the natural history museum in DC and the national aquarium there and also the national zoo. Not to mention all of those places are FREE to get into. 99% of the attractions in DC are FREE! The last time we went, we parked right by the national mall and walked around it to all the different museums. I think this time, we'll just a few places and spend more time there like the natural history museum, american history museum, national aquarium and the zoo.

you might as well go to florida since thats what new england is like this summer. ie. repressive heat and humidity with a short shower in the evening that makes things even worse.;D if you do go to n.e stay away from the seafood we're having redtide issues again. and astay ou of the ocean as well great whites are coming to the beaches:eek:

i wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world but this just isn't a good year
