If You Had To Do It Allover

mine is a single lawn mower blenny. that rascal wiped out my whole tank. forcing to start all over.

 

There are some things that I would like to have done differently, but on the other hand... Had I not made the mistakes I did I would have lost out on a wealth of hands on experience.

That being said... I will say this- My next tank will be drilled. Hang-on syphon based over-flows suck IMO.

I would also have chosen another type of bedding. I opted to use a black and grey substrate. It is OK, but the Gobie has accumulated a pile of larger fragments in the corner. Not too pretty.

 

What did he do? What do you mean wiped out? If it wasn't for my little blenny, my tank would be overcome with green hair. Since I have a phosphate problem, he keeps the pest algae at bay. And my tang of course!

 

I would of removed the carpet and either tiled the floor or put wood flooring. Now I have to tear down the tank next year when I do the floor. If I do Tile I might just tile around the tank and call it a day. Also made more educated choices in tank inhabitants. I have a Dogface puffer which is preventing me from buying any coral, and I would feel bad trading him in at the lfs

 

sometimes you have to learn to let go!
