hey guys. Long time no post. As you know I work 2 jobs now so I try to get in when I can. Any the tanks doing great and everything is thriving with the exception of my zoas which I believe Delvis has been snaking on. But I'm not too worried about that I believe I found out why. The reason I'm here right now is to identify a new coral. I was told galaxea by the 10 year old looking lfs employee but the more I look the more I think they are really crappy star polyps lol. But hey for 10 bucks its worth it just for the size. Here's the pic

I mainly wanted it to fill in a bare spot lol. Now to the other question. A couple days ago my fiance moved my newish green ricordea. I have no clue why but almost as soon as he did a current blew it behind the rocks. It wasn't worth it to me to move 200 pounds of rock for a 10 dollar coral but I was pretty poed at him anyway lol. Well today after feeding everyone I noticed this little bubble thing. Its very tiny and almost clear with green bubbles. I'm thinking it is a baby ric from the poor guy that fell behind the rocks. I know its hard to see but can anyone verify this or tell me what it is?it right behind the clown fish in the one pic.

sorry the pics are crappy i tried zooming in on my phioneand it produced less then quality results lol.and yes I realize I gave flatworms lol. My last sixljne jumped a few months ago so afternfinally building a new screen I just got a new one. He would be doing a much better job if my bicolor pseudochromis would stop chasing him around but even with all the chasing he's been finding time to pick at those stupid flatworms lol.

First image not a Galaxy, star polyps I believe.

The last image looks like a ball tip anemone, but hard to say. If not a ball tip look at cup corals(dendrophyllia).

i thought ball tip at first but i have a lot of those in my tank and this thing looks not at all like them...its more round. and the balls are sitting right on top instead of attached to tentacle looking things like the ball ips do...ill look at some pics of the cup corals though i have no idea where it would come from...its sitting right on a piece of huge rock thats been in the tank for at least a year. if it is something good it certainly picked a good spot for viewing lol. and i am also thinking star polys...not the greatest looking but hopefully with time they will color up a but...they have just a hint of green right now.

oh i should also mention it does have a "mouth" if that helps any

The Dendrophyllia can come in on live rock and you may never see it.

They have a hard skeleton like a stony coral, they are NPS.

If it's soft and does retract I would go with anemone, if has a skeleton some type of dendro, tons of different types.

And it's not a Ricordia right?

Actually the more I look at it the more it looks like a tiny baby ricordia. I may have to wait and see because it's so small. But my gut is telling me it's a ric.

I figured they were star polyps which I would much rather have then galaxea lol. And im glad you think it's a baby ric too. I really hope it is because it's almost like the fallen ricordia left a little legacy behind haha.

Most times mushrooms leave a little piece of themselves behind when they move and it develops into a full mushroom. Congrats
