Those of you that know me or have seen my posting back end of last year sometime. I had taken down my 55 gallon reef because I was gettin married and moving. Things didnt go quite according to plan, I DID get married however, still living in the same home and just picked up a new 75G tank with stand and canopy. The lights are retrofitted and pretty crappy (three 32 watt bulbs). I used to have 2 175 watt metal halides over my 55 but dont think I will be able to retrofit them in there. It doesnt really matter because I won't being going reef for now. Gonna with a FOWLR system until I move into another home. I will use this thread to update my progress. Having a problem uploading the new pics but will have them up soon. ;D Good to be back

    thanks

I was wondering, maybe I will have to start another thread for this, but.....I have a bucket of sand from my old tank that has been sitting and dried, can I use this in the new tank with the addition of new sand over it?

I was really just worried about any of the dead stuff in there causing any problems, but its really not that much and gonna use much more on top of it so I think it should be safe, just gonna rinse it.

Welcome back, congrats on getting married and starting a new tank.
I would rinse the sand in ro water thoroughly to remove dead matter.
