I dropped off these forums oh.... about 5 years ago.

Due to life getting in the way I had to put aside my plans for a reef tank for a while but the salty itch never subsided. Now things have settled and I have a new home with a wall just begging to be smashed down and replaced with an aquarium.

I have a 90 AllGlass w/twinflow. It has been holding dust rather than water for too long.

Since I've been gone it seems these pages have been gathering lots of great info and tons of new faces. That is great to see.

So, I'm going to be asking for some advice and posting pictures of my progress.

Next step... Smash down a wall!

So I spent the last two days busting out a wall, tearing down a chimney, and building the cabinet. I took pics but now I have to figure out how to post them.

    Ok... Here's progress so far.

    This wall needs to GO!

That's a chimney to the right. Pulled that out too. Had to patch the roof. I'll leave the hole up to the attic and put in a fan to vent the canopy heat.

The left side is getting opened up also. I wanted more open space. Going to make that a countertop.

Everything is ripped out. I didn't get pic of the chimney comming out or the roof being patched. Starting to build.

I want a big front access. I'm reusing the wood I pulled out. Good old southern pine.

    Level is good right?

I used plywood for the face. It's going to be painted to match the walls.

Very sturdy. It could hold an elephant.

You can see the hole where the chimney was.

Now it needs doors, trim and paint.

Wow! this has been a big project so far and I'm not nearly done.
