    hey im 15 i have nooo money and i need a skimmer i have a 29 gallon nano reef and im having a problem with nitrates and i need a cheap skimmer i can use for it if you have anysuggestion that would be awsome!

    Change out 50% of the water, twice, one day after the other.
    Then cut down on the feeding.
    You may have the tank overloaded biologically speaking due to excessive fish load or insufficient live rock perhaps.

    Just buy the skimmer made for the cube. $50 at petco/petsmart

    yeah my nitrates are at like 10-15 i have a mangrove tree and cheato algea and i have a prety dam good HOB filter but i feed once every other day and feed the corals tha same....i do a water change when things start to need it that endups being around 2 -3 weeks

    I wouldn't worry too much about 10~15 ppm. A regular waterchange schedule will keep your nitrates down.

    you dont really need to feed the corals once every other day

    just do some water changes and put some nitrate absorbing media in your hob filter

    This is a drastic measure used in "emergencies" only. Too disruptive.
    Agreed, to a degree.
    If you don't mind some plants in the display, Halimeda is a good solution. They suck up Nitrate.

    Do you have a sump?

    If so, If you paid for shipping I will give you an excalibur airstone driven skimmer. It worked well on my 35g I used to have.
