You can get an attachment that covers the intake with a large foam filter.

    Clown hosting...

As they say in weight loss commercials, "Results may vary." But our Rose Bubble Tip Anemone was put in a tank with our pair of Clarkii Clowns and within 16 hours the female had taken to it (the anemone was too small to fit them both).

Bubble Tips in general can have some awesome colors, in fact LiveAquaria has a pretty vibrant RBT in the "what you see is what you get" section.

As for intakes -- Aesthetically, I dislike the foam and prefer the alternative further down this page at Karen's site. It comes in different colors and is dramatically thinner.

cool. anyone have any experience with the long-tentacle?

weboddity--what is the name of the material you use to cover intakes. I followed the link and want to buy some but don't know what it's called?

also, at a local LFS the red bubble tip i saw was more of a pinkish/tan; not so bright red, but from pics on google is this the 'normal' color? do you guys have these bright red anemones that i should look for or are the tanpink ones normal?

I wouldn't worry too much about the color of the anemone, but more the species of anemone. I just bought the clownfish book by the late Joyce Wilkerson and has a breakdown of compatible of clowns to anemones. I'll look tonight when I get home. Entacmaeas are the typical bubbletips that are accepted by the most breeds of clowns, but are not naturally hosted by percula and ocellaris, if I remember right. But they will host in aquariums. Entacmaea quadricolors are known to change colors in aquariums, depending on the light spectrum they are placed under. The one in my avatar has changed to a very pale neon green, and the new one I bought 2 months ago has since changed from a regular green color to a rose color.

    Plastic Canvas...

You're looking for "plastic canvas" -- It's used to make those little pictures by stitching through it in different colors. If you don't have a local store with the color you need, check online stores.
Very good to know! Green to rose is an incredible difference.

From my experience, false percs and true percs are not overly fond of the LTA's, and you might have minimal success with that.
The carpet anemones are usually a 99% chance of hosting just about any true or false perc (i know someone will come up with something to disprove this- so go nuts :p). However carpet's are by far the most difficult to keep and require some pretty stringent conditions.
Bubble tips are aesthetically pleasing, and can thrive on far-less than perfect conditions. They're also known to have a very high chance at being hosted by false percs, and often times true percs alike. In my personal opinion- your best bets are on the bubble tip.
