IMO.... i wouldn’t move the clownfish, it will stress him out more. I would just do a 5% to 10% water change and ride it out, you have a nice amount of live rock so you should be good just don’t add anything else and cut your feeding to about every 3 day

Your tank had been up since April 15th, it hasn't even been a month (that would be May 15th). Your cycle isn't over by a long shot. It takes at least 4 - 6 weeks to cycle. You would have been realistically looking at a complete cycle at the end of this month, not 8 days ago.

    Just slow down a little.

+1 on Dr. Frag... Probably heard it over and over but doesnt hurt to repeat - be patient :)
also, is it me or the cleaning crew for that tank is huge? I don't know how much they add to the bioload but I think 35 snails and 5 hermits are a bit much for a 20gal.

brandon, im sorry for the misconception i was under the impression that once there was an ammonia and nitrate/nitrite spike and then it went away, the cycle was over. Thanks for the input. I know that "no date on a calendar" can tell you when a tank is done cycling, but you think that i will be safe to add fish/coral on the 30th of this month/ the 1st of next month? And what dufresne said, is that too big of a clean up crew? i costom ordered it from reefcleaners.org. those 2 brothers have been in the business for a while now, i doubt they would give me the wrong clean up crew. They custom made it and i send in just about every spec of my tank. Go see what form you have to fill out for a custom clean up crew. ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae i dont think its a lot considering how much liverock i have...

    Thanks for the help,
    Ryan

not going to jump on teh cycle bandwagon but you should let the tank cycle longer. Oh wait guess I jumped on.. give your tank some time. And I would stay away from the tap water. If you have to buy water at teh LFS Your tank will thank you for it. also whats your salinity?

my salinity is .025 i also used to buy premade saltwater its a petco brand. it comes in boxes of 5 gallons and it was really good. If i have to, i will for sure start doing that, for it is a lot more convenient. Also, I read rawdogz comment after i did this but i moved the clown. Im going to let my tank sit for a while and couldnt bare to see him suffer. Im going to wait till the end of this month (maybe next month) to start adding fish and coral.

and just a side question, Will there be any long term consequences for what i did (rushing into this) i really thought my cycle was over or i never would have put fish in. I wanted this tank to be my best tank ):

Your cleanup crew is an acceptable size, don't worry about that. Also no there will not be any long term consequences to rushing in. Almost everyone does it anyways. The problem is even after a cycle, you add a fish, let it be for a week or so, add another fish, let it be for a week or so, and so on and so on. You have to go slowly.

In a 20 gallon tank, though, I would say 4 or 5 inches worth of fish and you will be about maxed out. So 3 or 4 fish tops.

Finally, +1 on the RO water suggestion. Get away from tap water, it's really bad for a fish tank. Especially if you want to go reef.

I want to back things up a bit... What did you use, if anything to start the cycle? I'm sorry if this had already been answered but I may have read over it... Id be careful about using premade salt water, you never know were it came from or whats in it... Id invest in a Ro/Di unit Asap, and get yourself and high quality salt mix...

Also id cut back on the feeding to at least once a day, or once every other day... I think the overfeeding may be causing your Param to be out of whack... Everyone has given you great advice, and if the clown still wont eat, I would Qt it and or soak the food in garlic...

    Best of Luck
