If it makes you feel better, I have spent over $3000 on my 24g Aquapod..

I bet throughout the years, I've spent just as much if not more maintaining and feeding the tank.. And what about the electricity bill?? I don't even want to know..

One thing I do know is that this hobby is worth every penny!!

yup still living with the rents. I wish i could move out and be out on my own, but price of living here is just way to expensive, i want to move out of state but worry about not finding a job and i'm still in school. Plus i don't have the money and i'd have to bring both my horse, my dog and my tank over with me. No way thats happening anytime soon. So i'll take the rent free living, entire upstairs to myself, mom who makes dinner every night, so for now i'm good where i'm at :D

and yea so long your happy and bellies are full, that's all that really matters, especially in this economy

    Exactamundo! That's all that matters.

I remember trying to get to know my father for the first time, he said he wanted custody of us kids so bad. When I went to live with him he charged me $250 in rent (For sleeping in my room) Whatever the phone and cable bill came to, Usually about $175-200. On top of that I had to do ALL laundry, dishes, clean up the kitchen and living room every day, Watch the kids (They have 6....) whenever they didnt feel like it (and they never felt like it) and buy groceries. If I ate I had to keep a tab on what I ate and pay them the cost (even tho I paid for it). Then the last straw was when my old buick broke down my dad SOLD me a car for $250 more that what he bought it for....he told me he fixed it....he didnt....told me he'd help me fix it....didn't....
So that's why I bought a house, lol. Count yourself Lucky PC, Wish my rents were that cool.

Wow that really had to suck living there. All I have to pay for is my car and my own credit card bills. Nothing like you

Lol, yeah. Guess there was a reason he was never in my life. (Had a GREAT step dad tho. Best guy evah!;D)Im so glad to be on my own now tho. All things happen for a reason and it just shapes you to be a better person.

I calculated my tank expenses so far and by being thrifty I've spent about $675 on my tank when I should have spent close to $1200 (give or take).
