I'm going to get a rose bubble tip nem.

I've always stayed away from nems and never had an interest because they scare me! They seem hard to care for and the thought of one dying and killing my fish makes me very nervous.

But - my water quality is good and my lights are more than enough for a nem.

My clowns only hang at the top of the water, and I've read, and been told, that it means they are stressed and feel uncomfortable. Well, that makes me very sad! So I'm hoping if I get a nem they will come down and hang out and feel more at home.

    Any tips?! :)

i've been debating the same thing with the same worries, but it seems if you do have a death, a decent water change and running carbon will prevent a die off! So i guess have that prepared and ready! i'm gonna take the plunge soon! keep us posted!

So what color are you getting and where are you going to get it?

Very exciting, I absolutely loved mine. Personally I think BTA are much easier than most other anemones.

I'm going to get it from my LFS - Barrier Reef. They have a beautiful rose BTA in right now. They also have one about 12 inches across - but I think I'll pass on that one ;)

Yes yours will get large enough soon.

Is you tank guy going to cover the power heads?

Power heads, over flows and heaters are the concerns I would have.

I'm not sure, he mentioned the danger of the MPs. What can I cover them with? Just a fine mesh or something?

Member MoJoe had a thread on DIY power head covers.

I lived dangerously, once I was sure my BTA settled in I removed the covers. Knock on wood I never had issues with anemones vs powerheads, heaters or over flows but tons of people have.

Thanks - I'll check out this thread. A massacred nem is not something I want to see!
