My girlfriend said that if i can keep my "hands out of the tank" for a week she will go with me next weekend to pic out some coral.

im not allowed to do anything but feed, top-off

no testing, cleaning. making new water for storage, or adding anything new (equipment or live). not sure about the last one. i am probably going to be off on thursday and friday with nothing to do ;D.

Try to explain to her that without being able to "put your hands in the tank" for a week you may experience catastophic tank failure. And if she doesnt buy that go and pick out some corals by yourself.;D I dont think I could go a week without wiping the inside of the tank down, testing, mixing a batch of water, or moving something to try and find the "perfect" spot.

good luck! I'm waiting for the day, just one day!, where I come home and don't feel the need to fiddle, fix, test, add, etc something with my tank. I love it, but its straight up an ADDICTION!!

Er, no cleaning the glass? I'd have a tank with a wall of algae blocking the view in 4 days if I didn't clean it, I don't know how your is though lol. I can understand not adding corals/fish/equipment, but the cleaning/testing is way on the other side of extreme here.
