    I would have given anything to have someone with experience help me along the way. Just because I offer help doesn't mean he won't make mistakes, but to sit and watch a friend be frustrated because he might be missing something just doesn't pan out to me. I agree that this forum will be very helpful, I'm the one that told him to join up.

    the black box looks like the prefilter . i have a cpr skimmer on my wifes tank witch is of the same design i have to keep the cup way higher where the bottom of the cups cone is about 3/8 " under the water line once it starts to skim it will fill real quick
