I am currently running a 40 gallon breeder reef. I was planning to start a 75 reef and shut down the 40.

If I keep the 40 going, I plan to use the new 40 breeder I have with a new diy stand canopy and plumbing.

I will also eventually start the 75 up, but it will be a fish only saltwater tank.

    So here's where you decide.

Keep the 40 going and start the 75 as a fish only.

Or start the 75 as a reef.

    Tough decision.

If you have money to make the 75 be a full-out reef tank, then that's what I would do. Otherwise I would keep the 40B as a reef tank and have the 75 be a FOWLR.

75 as a reef, and keep the 40 going

You just have to get her interested lol. That is why within a year I have gone from a 16 gallon bowfront to a 40 gallon breeder, 2 biocube 14's and she let me buy a 29 gallon set up as well lol. She also wants to breed clowns lol. ;D Maybe I just got lucky!

Similar situation here. Did 29 to 90 upgrade, meaning took down the 29 after I set up the 90. When I did this, the boss (wife) was saying it was too big. Now she says 90 is too small! Success? LOL
