My tank is a 10 gallon mini reef it has 10 lbs of livesand about 20 or so lbs of live rock and a filter for circulation and a powerhead and my question was how many fish can i get? Do i have to have a protien skimmer? Im saving up to get a 20 inch t5 or halide. I have a hood with some coralife bulbs. How long should i wait to get fish?

atleast 3 weeks you have to let your tank cycle first( cycle means all of your paramaters have to been normal for atleast a week). i would say 1 or two fish. i would look into gobies. a good site to look at is liveaquaria.com also do you plan on having corals

dont get corals until you get proper lighting and no you dont have to have a skimmer its just suggested
