Let me start by saying I'm not a very good handywoman. After looking at pine stands for my 40 breeder at my LFS I dont think I want to go that route because they are a bit wobbly and Im not looking for fancy just function. One LFS in particular does his own fabrication though. He offered to build me a (1" x 3",vertical slat, pine stand) but I'm not sure what that would look like? Does anyone have any pics of what one would look like? I also wanted to expand my sump to a sump fuge going the 20L route. He told me the package would cost $225.00 total is this a good deal?

Best pic I have of my stand...but maybe enough to give you an idea. And no I don't run a CF and sump, pic was taken the day of change over from/to.:)

Stand is 1X3 knotty pine slat build.

I'd shop around a little bit or a lot bit lol, seems kind of high to me considering 1X3 pine is less than a buck per linear foot. Or you could ask to see some of his work and if he's got mad woodworking skill it may be worth $225 for a one of a kind stand. :)

*edit* broke my own pet peeve..responded b4 reading sorry...stand and sump would be worth it new if it's a finished sump and not just a 20L aquarium.

If your stand is starting to bow, I would remove a good portion of the water asap to relieve as much stress as you can.
The materials for making a quality stand will run about $100, assuming good oak frame and oak panels. Asking $125 to cover labor isn't too bad. Making a stand will take some time to do right.
