There are so many pregnancy shows out there that pretty much glorify pregnancy its really getting on my nerves. They only show the good after having the babies.

It seems like I see a ridiculous amount of girls that are pregnant that are younger then me .... sorry just venting,

Well it's hard to overcome desires; they know its wrong to do "it" at a young age but temptation is a real b**** and it results in 16 year old pregnancies

Believe it or not, teenage pregnancy is actually down in the U.S.

I don't blame ya. Im 24 turning 25 next month*gasp* and have no kids and don't plan on too until we are well established :) My sis-in-law just turn 21 in Nov (I think) and has a 4 month old. She isn't married, doesn't have a stable job, lives with her fiance who can be a jerk off. Her parents kept giving her hand outs because they have no $$. There are females on this base who look like they barely 18 and are ready to POP. I just don't understand it.

I do not understand why the networks want to air shows like that, they should be showing the downside to having kids at too young of an age.

To be a good parent you should be mature enough to handle raising a child, and be in a position to provide financially for that child.

I can tell you I am glad my girls and my daughter-in-law had enough sense to wait until they were ready before having kids.

You must be watching shows I'm not aware of. I hate to admit it, but I've watched nearly every episode of "16 and Pregnant" on MTV and they do not glorify pregnancy. I think the bad side is actually better for TV ratings. Did you forget about Farrah and that debacle of a situation? I think they do a very good job of showing the turmoil, stress and sacrifices that must be made when having a child. Maybe other shows are different.

From what I saw on 16 and pregnant (one episode, not willingly, unlike GMan haha), there was no glorification of the situation.

I also don't think it's a matter of "overcoming temptation", but rather "being knowledgeable". Plastic is a wonderful thing, but some people aren't clued in to its benefits in this situation, or don't realize other methods, like pills, aren't foolproof.

i would have to agree with guitarman. i have watched nearly every episode of teen mom and/or 16 and preganant and most of it is showing how it has impacted their lives in a negative way.
