Not wanting to settle for a freshwater tank I decided to dive into my first Saltwater Setup. Research began. 3 months ago I began my venture into the setup of a 55 gallon FOWLR. I came across this fixture on craigslist and didn't hesitate when i heard the price.

My first noob mistake. MEASURE BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!! The fixture didnt fit my tank. So I did something crazy..I BOUGHT A BIGGER TANK!!!!!

    Bad idea.

There is a reason I keep my tank-related purchases on a card that isn't a joint account with the fiance

    Good news and bad news.

Good news is that you've spent a bunch of money and you've covered the basics, and you haven't skimped.

Bad news is that you haven't even started spending yet. :)

Nice tank. Nice stand. Nice lighting. Nice skimmer. Welcome to the obsession. Bring your wallet!

Awesome stand. You got the right idea tanks are cheap lights are expensive. In the future I will buy my lights then find a tank to fit them. With that light it has to either be a reef or have an anemone.

Next i add the rock thats been cycling in the 55 gal. It may or may not have finished but I figure i have to add sand to the new tank anyway...sooo.....Away we go...Sump silicone is curing and will post pics tonight. Will take pics tonight of sand, and rock and sump.

I will wait till this weekend to test parameters. Will post my results, Need help reading the colors. They never match...
