you say that but I'll bet you have never worked in the industry and hear every kid that comes into the store screaming "NEMO NEMO". I worked in one for around 2 years and heard this every day that I was working and then people saying I want a gill, and a bubbles and a bloat. Then they get all upset when you tell them that most of the "gills" die in a short period of time. NEMO was good for the hobby in the sense that it did raise awareness and brought the hobby to the forefront but I think they could have done a better job choosing their fish. I'm sure they didn't know the impact that it would have on the hobby though.

With the size of your tank, the ground probe isn't going to be the big issue. the size of your tank is the enemy.

Hate to say it but a Hippo Tang in a 36 gallon realy isn't appropriate.

yea, i know,:-[, it definately wasnt a smart impulse buy... ill be removing a few fish to make it as comfortable as possible...

the lfs said their not as big swimmers as yellow tangs and they do swim around but kinda will float there.

the tang seems fairly comfortable in my tank right now, very suprised on hes not as shy as i thought he would be

heh... Nemo. I am disgusted every time I go into my less favorite LFS here there's almost always some kid running around sceaming NEMO! NEMO MOMMY! LOOK AT THE NEMO! and usually they're pointing at a gold fish... maybe a chiclid. Then they round the corner and see the marine tanks and they come unhinged.

never have I been so close to smacking a child.

Once I saw a kid pounding on the glass open handed and having a nervous break down because his mom wouldn't look.... poor fish were clearly going into a shock state... I don't think that tank survived the day.

... I think Nemo has led to a lot of impulse buys by parents who just want to make their kid stop screaming. Is it any wonder the LFS I buy from has a 10:1 ratio of clowns : everything else combined?

next kid that comes into my shop and starts screaming nemo at my tank is gonna be asked to leave.

Hippo tangs love to swim in strait lines and they love to go fast. You will either need to upgrade the tank or get him a new home soon. Lack of swimming room causes them stress and then several problems.
