And I just can't hide it! My Mandarin dragonet ate brine shrimp this weekend!!! I saw him scarf down at least a dozen of them!!! Then the next day I fed frozen mysis shrimp and he ate those to!!! I was so happy to see this. I have a fuge full of pods, but I worried about him starving since my tank is only 30 gallons. Attached is a pic from shortly after his feast!

Thats cool....how long have you had him/her? What did you do different that made him eat the brine?

I think I am getting one on Tuesday and would love for it to eat brine...I should be so lucky

    Congrats!!!!

I have had him for about 1 month and had been feeding brine but didn't see him eat it. The thing I did differently when he finally at the brine shrimp was this. I shut off ALL pumps, so the water was still. Dumped some brine on a few places on the rock. He came creeping around the rocks as usual looking for tiny pods, came across the brine, and BAM! He started muching em down. I was so happy!! My wife thought I was crazy!!

    That's awesome!

There's one of my LFS here in Knoxville, TN that feeds all their mandarins frozen food. They sell them to you as "Trained Dragonets" :)

Brother in law got one and he's doing well even though he's got absolutely no visible pods on his rock.

So, it's possible. I don't know how they do it, but they seem to train them to eat frozen food... Garlic may encourage the fish as well.... or maybe just hunger... I don't know.

    Glad yours eat frozen food!
