can i get away with one more fish in my 37 gallon?

look at my Sig for the info and give me your honest opinions.

my params are as follows and has been constant with my current stocklist.

    ph - 8.2
    ammonia - 0
    nitrite - 0
nitrate - 5.0 (i now have Chaeto to help with that)
    salinity - 1.023

if the answer is yes does anyone have a good suggestion that would go along with my current livestock.. i would really like a bi color blenny but i was reading there is a chance it would not get along with my firefish, one other i find very interesting is a flasher wrasse.

You may get away with adding another but you dont want to overstock either. I would suggest getting your nitrate on down some before proceeding. JMO.

yeah, easily. I dont buy into all of these *only put so many fish in this size tank* crap. I bet I will have 15-20 fish in my 125. Ask alot of people and thats just too many!! I dont buy it. Keep the fish to a reasonable size, and you wont have any problems IMHO. Just keep an eye on the "minimum tank size".

Think about it like this. 1000 square foot house is comfortable for 2-3 people. there is enough room to move around and everyones happy. Now put 15-20 people in there. everything has changed. It can be done but should it. Your tank is fishs house and is no different JMPO

i agree. i dont want to overstock my tank for the well being of the fish, i wouldnt just add them because i think i could handle the bioload.

I think you would be ok... I had a black and white clown, sixline wrasse, and a royal gramma in my tank... and it was a 20H with lots of swimming room....

Jay you may be perfectly fine adding 1-2 more fish. I think that is a personel choice that you have to make. I dont know how often you do WC's, how well the filtration system you got does. I think some tanks can handle more of a bioload than others depending on how they are set up and the husbandry that is applied to the tank.

    Good luck on your decision

My son has 2 false perc clowns, 1 b/w damse and 1 blue damsel in a 29. his tank has the sump system and skimmer off of my 72 that I broke down turning over around 500 GPH w/ about 40# of LR.

You can probably get away with a blenny. Just watch your params after you add it. If you start noticing your nitrates climbing (when they were stable before), then you'll know you can not. At least not with the current filtration scheme. But a blenny should be pretty low impact.

I would be more concerned with the clowns terrorizing the firefish than the blenny ... but since your clowns are already doing fine by it, I do not think a blenny would matter.

I doubt you could do the wrasse (but it is possible) because it's a swimmer like the clowns and RG and there just isn't enough room for that many swimmers. They will potentially stress each other out (could lead to disease or jumping for example).

How many fish you can keep will ultimately come down to the combination of fish and the filtration you have.

makes complete sense, thanks Peredhil. yea non of my fish bottom dwell so i think the blenny would go somewhat unnoticed to the other fish.
