My skimmer has been having a mind of its own for the past few days. it hasnt been wet skimming but the water has been as far up as in the middle tube of the collection cup. So I finally manned up and took it apart and noticed that the magnet in the impeller has about a 1 in crack but its only surface as I see it now. I also found some form of wierd shaped piece of crazy glue in there also. I cleaned the part and placed it back into the motor and now the water is from the bottom to 1/4 the way up the collection. Should I be worried or just ride it out?

I would just ride it out another day and if you dont see any other improvement I would try to replace the impeller, i.e contact the manufacture and see about getting a replacement. Maybe with the cracked impeller your not getting the correct flow and in turn not getting the propper amout of microbubbles the skimmer needs to pull some good skimmate for you. Good Luck.

I have the exact same issue right now. I checked my skimmer and the bubbles were about half way up instead of to the neck. I pulled out the pump and saw a small crack. If the magnet is warped in any way those are pretty much rendered useless, for skimming anyways. Get another one and it will be back to normal. Eshopps support got one in the mail the very next day!

Replace the impeller, don't ride it out and damage the pump too.

Finally found someone on line that had it in stock. Looks like i will be saving up for a new skimmer because it sounds like that part is almost obsolete.
