he thinks he's more grown up than he is. he's got a girlfriend who lives next door. the only trouble is that shes a full grown alaskan husky and is about twice the size of our little cassanova.

speaking of ridiculous names. my wife wants me to share with you all the nicknames my pup goes by: toby, tobias, tobiJAH!, toblerone (cuz he's so sweet), fuzzbutt, and lil' chomp.

a quick update, on Toby-Wan Kenobi. so, we live in a second story apartment with a balcony. Toby likes to sit out there with me when i sit in my hammock and read or when i grill. we thought about putting some window screen over the gap between the wall and the top rail right away but he's been going out there for like 3 months and never does more than peek over the edge and then sit on his pillow so we never got around to putting up the screen. well today, my mom was visiting and had Toby out there with her watching birds. after a few minutes she came inside and said, "He jumped..."

i guess Toby picked out a bird he really wanted, took a running start, cleared the wall and fell about 15 feet. Mom might have freaked out a little more but the dumb dog hit the ground running. by the time my wife caught after him he was half a mile away pooping in someone's backyard. we checked him over to see if there's anything broken but he's completely fine. running around the apartment, jumping up on couches and chasing balls. stupid dog

in other news, we bought him a new bed.

thank you! if i'm ever anywhere near washington i'll bring him for a play date with your pups. i think he's going to be a little stiff tomorrow. when he lays down for too long he gets a bit of a limp, but he walks it off like a trooper.
i think i might crush up a little asprin for him tomorrow morning if he's complaining

When my dog had horrible growing pains we gave her aspirin and it seemed to help. Just be careful not to overdose!

I want that dog. It's nice to know he can survive a 15 foot fall though. But like the saying goes, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end. So I guess if he hit the ground ready to hit it and run, he absorbed most of the impact. Hope his little stiffy legs are better soon.

You sure that bed is big enough? I don't think it is...

he's a bed hog. he sleeps with my wife and me most of the time. it was cute when he was a puppy but now he rolls around and kicks in his sleep. we were looking at getting a king sized bed so we'd have more room when i realized: a kingsize frame + mattress + sheets = ~ 1000 minimum but a papasan chair cost $25 on craigslist. no brainer

i don't know about nitrates, but he definitely has a METHANE issue...
