I don't know many people this has happened to but I have always wondered what do people do if their tank actually crashes? Does anyone else wonder about this? I always wonder what would I do if it happened, how do you clean that up?

I would nuke the rock and throw away the sand and start all over after I wash everything in bleach. That's just me though.:-/

I had a 60ltr tank (1st tank)crash in my living room and lost the lot.It was around 4 years ago now .
    1. put the fire out if there is one (my powerboard copped the brunt of it)
    2. cut the electricity
    3. get a bucket and start picking up rock, Dead pets, glass etc......
    4. call the insurance company to see what they can do (usually cheaper to ...deal with it yourself
    5. Call a carpet cleaner or hire a wet dry vacuum
    6. he/she pull all the water out and rip it up too dry the slab concrete
    7. then wait till it dries and see what damage you have

.....and try not too stress to hard its not healthy.....:)
It cost me about $1500.00 in livestock
and $380 for the carpet guy that came twice
$50.00 for the case of beer to get over it

hope this helps and NEVER happens to you or anyone in this hobby....:)

I had a fire recently, dont know if that counts. I was adding water, and something splashed a power strip, flames shot up lots of nice black smoke. I went and unplugged the power, and put out the fire. I lost the powerstrip and thats all luckily.

$50 for a case of beer!!!

Good Lord where do you live, cause I would go broke living there!!
Back on subject, if your talking literally I had a tank explode on me a 55gal. My wife and I were sitting in our living room enjoying (well at least watching) some Sun afternoon program when, BOOM!, my tank exploded. No known cause for this tank explosion (it was freshwater). Was a total loss, took pics went to Petsmart and they refunded me a new tank free of charge (great company).
Prolly not what your looking for but just wanted to say, EXPLOSIONS can happen:)

By Crash to do mean a total loose of inhabitants do to a build up of some toxin. Or do you mean a physical tank falls on the floor. Usually when 'Crash' is used it refers to a toxin build up
