I was doing some further research on fish in a reef tank. Are these rules below good ones to follow?:

    1. in a reef tank 1 in of fish per 6 galllons
    2. FO 1 in of fish per 3 gallons

you will come to find that there are no set rules in this hobby. They don't sound bad, heard roughly the same thing, but it really depends how big the fish are, bigger fish produce more waster than smaller fish equal in length. Also depends on filtration, skimming, amount of water changes and many other elements. I would start on the lighter side, then see how your parameter check out and then add slowly

I've had 2 fish in my 5.5 and I've kept 1 with no difference noticed... I have more piece of mind with only 1 though and thats what I have now... Its just preference and the amount of water changes you want to do. IMO...

so in your opinion the more fish the more water changes should be done? im not thinking of loading the fish in a tank but i want to know if they will be comfortable :)

That does bring up a good point with me. I am converting from a FOWLR to a reef tank. So If I trade in my Jebo PS for a Bullet (that is overrated for my tank), I can keep most of my fish?

The problem is I deal with nano fish as I call them. Mostly juveniles. But different species need different water volumes. Like a tang need alot of room to swim. I tried a juvenile blue hippo in my 12 gallon nano cube. Lasted only about 16 hours and I felt horrible for even trying it. But you learn... Same with different fish and their compatability. My friend has a yellow tailed damsel and a tomato clown in a 12 gal aquapode... and they get along just fine...
