So this weekend I decided to laser out some frag shelf's out of some .25" acrylic. They are 4x12 with a 1" back. I super glued some suction cups to the backside and bam here they are in my tank.

looks great, but those suction cups will fail when you least expect them to.

I would use small magnets instead.

I used those little magnets used to hold heaters and airlines and such to hold up my egg crate rack.

I simply drilled ahole with my drill in the egg carte, and cut the "wings" off the heater holder attachement on 2 of these magnets. It works great.

Has anyone tried making legs for an eggcrate stand using PVC pipe? The first one I saw was in a 20 gallon breeder tank, made of 2" PVC pipe. The pipe had holes drilled in it to allow water circulation so the pipes didn't get stagnate water in it, and then it was simply PVC glued and zip-tied to the eggcrate. It worked awesome, I have just never tried it myself.

i have that in my fuge holding my live rock rubble up and out of the water on the intake side. i drilled 4 holes in the top of the leg across from one another and used 2 zip ties to hold on the egg crate shelf - no need for glue, if you zip tie it right its very stable.
