Thanks! I am pretty excited about it. I have always wanted to do an in wall too...just needed the right house for it. It helps having a basement - because of the weight of the tank - it will be about 3000 lbs when all is said and done. Here in GA most of our basements are walk in basements too...which really helps alot - would hate to carry that tank down a set of stairs!

my mom has a 500 gallon tank in her living room wall. The guy who build it used some plastic spray from a can. Next time i go to her house i will take some pic for you to take a look at. From what i remember this stuff is just spray on plastic it will water proof anything outside gutters wood or anything else you can imagine.

okay, so this may not look like much of an update...but in the grand scheme of what is being done in my basement, this is a big milestone. The hole for my 250 has been cut in the wall - a new header has been installed - and my stand has been built - though it is now disassembled for painting. Its hard to believe by looking at this mess - but they hard part of the construction is behind us. The contractors will have the stand assembled and the tank in the wall by Tuesday. Then all the cabinets, etc. that you can see in the picture will be installed in the support room and all painting will be done by Thursday. I will start making water when I get back from my business trip on Thursday. My goal is to have my current 120 G contents moved into the new tank by the following Monday (11/19). Then I will get all the automation (apex, web cam, etc.) hooked up by the end of the week of thanksgiving. I am hoping the tank will not recycle...or if it does it will be small - and by the week of Christmas I can really start to stock up on fish. Anyway - here are the pictures for now...more updates later this week as things develop.

Nice, looking forward to seeing it come together. Did you get your walls figured out?
